  • Rate of growth. We will be looking into whether your processing volumes are increasing, declining or stagnant. As you might expect, rising volumes might lead to more favorable terms for you. However, we will be happy to provide services to your business, even if your volumes are declining.
  • Chargeback rate. This factor is very important. Ideally, you will have your chargebacks under control, in which case you will have a shot at the best processing rates available. However, we don’t live in a perfect world and if your chargeback rate is in “excessive” territory (typically that means over 1 percent), we will still be able to work with you through our high chargeback merchant account, only on less favorable terms.

    But rest assured that, once you start using your internet merchant account, we will work with you to bring your chargeback rate back down to more “normal” levels and, as soon as we’ve achieved that objective, we will reward you with a lower credit card rate.

  • Rate of declined transactions. This is an important indicator for the overall health of your web-based business and we will be examining it closely.
• Supporting documentation. As part of the underwriting process, we will ask you to provide paperwork that you should have readily available. More particularly, we will need the following:
  • Articles / Certificate of Incorporation or an equivalent document.
  • Copy of the owner’s driver’s license / passport / national ID card.
  • Copy of your business / operating license, if applicable.
  • Voided check or, if unavailable, a bank letter.
  • The three most recent bank statements for your business.
  • Recent utility bill — it must be no older than a month of the application date.
• Additional paperwork. It is probable that later on during the application process we may ask you to provide some additional documentation and we may also ask you for information about some issue or other. This is standard underwriting procedure and your prompt follow-up will help us quickly wrap up the process.
